I am a newbie to the site, something you may have already gathered from the subject line, I along with the wife (the boss) have recently moved into the area    and live just outside Le Dorat.

But I get them to do it for me, when they turn up just tell them you don't understand enough and they will fill in the answers for you and all you have to do is sign it.

The agent that came last time to us was being driven around by on of the Mayors staff, and he knew all about us and the house so it was simple and painless.

Further to my earlier plea to find a good supplier of wood, I have now found one.
Hi name is Jirka Habi and he is based near Adriers. He can be found by searching for bois de chauffage, Adriers in LeBonCoin.

His wood is a mixture of oak and ash, 2 years old and priced at €45/stére. I was most surprised that he also stacked the wood at no additional cost.
He also supplies kindling at the same price.

Hello and welcome to the latest in my seemingly endless chain of questions

My wife and I are planning to return to see family in the UK at Christmas for just over a week.

All fine apart from the fact that we have two cats over here that need either to be fed or banished to a cattery for the duration.

Andrea has found one cattery but the space available for the cats is very small - she reckons the two of them would be sharing a space about the size of a small fridge - and it's a fair drive away from base. So that's not going to happen

Does anyone:
a) know of a good cattery within (say) an hour of Montmorillon
or
b) know of someone who'd be prepared to pop over to our place near Adriers once a day or every other day to leave them some food. In return for suitable payment, of course

This is our first proper Christmas here in France.
Do any of the towns within 20-30km of Montmorillon have Christmas markets? I've scoured the papers etc but can't find any references. Our fantastically helpful French neighbours have rather thoughtlessly gone away for a few weeks so I cant ask them!

The soil can be moved 50 yards down track.

Apologies if this has been covered before. I did go through the forum but couldn't find an answer.

I've just bought a used car and need to register it. I know the process in outline and where to do it. The vendor said that the fee has to be paid by cheque and cash is not acceptable. The problem is that I do not have a cheque book. Does anyone know if the fee can be paid by debit or credit card?

I have a pool/billiard table for sale. It is 204cm long X 116cm wide X 78cm high. It comes with a plastic cover, a box each of pool and billiard balls, chalk, cues and two racks. There are a couple of small marks near one of the corners but I will show these in the photos. Price €350 ono. Unfortunately, I cannot deliver it so if anyone is interested they will have to come to La Trimouille and collect. I have photos and will try and post them here.
