We are back in La Trimouille next week for a couple of weeks and weather permitting we would like to take some walks around our local area.
It would be great to buy some maps (similar to Ordinance Survey) and wondered where we might buy these and if there is a type (scale/detail etc) that would be better for this sort of thing.
Been trying to find out more info about how we can declare the necessary for the Taxe D'Habitation which we now must do (we believe)
We have a place near Lathus and use it as a holiday home. We're reading that as second home owners, we must declare this but appear to be going around in circles trying to set up a personal space on the impots website.
Has anyone else had a successful journey on this - we've not had a personal space on Impots.gouv before as we've never had to declare anything and only used the site to settle property tax bills. We filled out what we thought was the right form, but had an email back directing us to our local office (which we must visit in person as we don't have a personal space on Impots..... )

I hope someone can help. I am due to collect a new car on Monday 6th March, which means I'll be driving to Montmorillon station on Monday to get a train to Bordeaux to collect the 'new' (ie old, second-hand) one.
That means I'll have a car stuck at Montmorillon station with no means to retrieve it other than a taxi which costs 80€ for the 15km journey.
Ideally, I'd like to collect my parked car on March 7. 8. 9. 10, 11 or 12 (Tuesday - Sunday).
What I need is a kind person (who is already planning to drive through Adriers to Montmorilon) who'd be prepared to pick me up and offer me a lift. I'd be happy to contribute to the petrol, diesel, or Merlot fund as preferred!
I'm based just off the D729, roughly halfway between Adriers and Moulismes.
We have had a letter from soregies about new charges but they quote two, one for Tariff HTT and one for Tarif TTC i can’t see anywhere on my bill which one we are
Can anyone point neon the right place to find it please

Hi, moving over in a months time but will have to get our Nissan Jukes headlights changed/altered from right hand drive to left. Does anyone know of a dealership/garage that might be able to assist. I’ve been quoted of between £800-£900 if I get it done in the UK.
Thanksl
Does anyone know of a garage that will positon headlight stickers on our rhd car. We have had some on since before the last CT which passed but this time they failed it and said they were in the wrong position ! So we need a new set positioning so it will go through the CT. We dont want to risk doing it ourselves.

I'm in need of a bit of assistance please.
The engine management warning light has illuminated in my car. It's probably indicating a trivial fault, but the only way to be sure is to plug a reader into the diagnostic port. Does anyone have one that they'd let me use? I could drive to wherever you are, plug it in, read the code and go. You'll hardly know I was there...

Good day all,
I'm a bit baffled. Our electricity has always been supplied by Soregies. I can access my account via soregies.fr and send them my readings, view my contract details and bills, and make payment.
I recently had a Linky meter installed, having been given advance warning by Soregies. It appears that there is link between Soregies and a company called SRD Energies who actually fit and (I presume) manage the Linky meters. I set up an account at LinkyparSRD.fr and was able to see my daily consumption as re[ported by the Linky.
But... the daily readings stopped 3 days ago (last report 6th November), with the website reporting 'no data available'. As a bill is due around now, I looked on the Soregies website, where I was informed that I no longer have an electricity contract with Soregies. That's news to me as everything still appears to be working!
Has anyone else experienced this? Have Soregies merged with SRD? It seems very strange that there has been no communication about this by post, email or within the relevant websites. I'd love to hear about anyone else's experience.
It's my understanding the tax fonciere is due for payment around October. Should I receive a demand from the local Marie and when? Is it possible to set up this and the tax d'habitation on direct debit? Thanks.

It's September 11th today and the start of the hunting season for La Chasse.
If you're out for a walk look out for the signs of La Chasse. Their operations are usually very obvious with signs, high-viz vests and sounds of gunfire, but every year stray gunfire causes injuries or death. It's worth keeping your wits about you when it in the countryside.

Hi, I am looking for either a company or carpenter that can install a ready made garage door or build and install one.
We are moving permanently to this area and would ideally like to secure our garage asap.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated

We're lucky in Montmorillon that there are a great number of clubs, associations and activities with which to get involved. But how do you discover them?
The easy answer is at the Forum des Associations.
This annual event is a showcase for over 120 societies in Montmorilon and the surrounding area. Each club has a stall and people to explain more - and sign you up if you like!
This year's event is at the Espace Gartempe on 16, Boulevard du Terrier Blanc on Sunday 4th September. Doors open at 09:00, and access is free and doesn't require pre-booking - just turn up. See you there?
There's a Facebook page but it doesn't tell you much more that I've already said
Does anyone know where I can find a qualified installer to fit a log burner in my house in Montmorillon? They would need to speak English as my French is not up to technical discussion.
