Does anybody know where you can buy curry sauce ( madras or vindaloo )?
I have seen some sauces on the English shelves at Leclerc but they are all very mild.
Thanks in advance.
That's an old motor of ours, not me - or at least not yet.
The question is this; just how do I go about scrapping an old car in France - legally?
I was going to put this thread in Motoring - but as the old bird doesn't "motor" anymore I feel the subject has more to do with legalities. We are in France after all.
Sooo.....anyone have any idea of the ins and outs of sending a car to the scrap heap?
Does the scrap yard cancel the carte grise for me so the motor doesn't officially exist anymore? Do I get paperwork confirming I used to have a, now dead, car? Do I cancel the insurance or does the scrap yard?
More importantly, where is one, a scrap yard that is, when you need it? The car is un-driveable since you didn't ask so they would have to collect.
Also important.....do I get any money for this sudden and unexpected act of benevolence?
All answers gratefully received because I sick to death of looking at the thing sitting outside. Maybe I could just hide it in a barn....if I had one.

Don't the Montmorillon roundabouts look good, they always look nice and tidy.
And I like the Watering Can.
Sorry did'nt get any more photo's maybe you can stop and post some, one of my favourites is the one where they put the giant pencils it's often changing theme. But the most disappointing one must be the one at Leclerc, they only seem to do anything with it at Xmas.

What's the best ground cover for a weed free garden?
I've got fed up growing veg in the ground and spending most of my time weeding, I've tried beds before but the bits in between took me ages to go around with the strimmer. So this year I'm having a go at some container growing, I've put my containers on a Tarp for this year just to give it a try but I don't think it's the best solution.
So I'm thinking of getting the black breathable stuff we had in the pollytunnel, it worked fine in there but I'm trying to work out what is best to cover it with? The cheaper the better, I'm not to worried to much about looks but something that lasts and stops the weeds growing on top of the black stuff whilst also making it ok for walking on.

We have a stack of 5 year old Seasoned Firewood mostly Oak, the stack is roughly about 1mt x 4mt x 1.2mt (But don't quote me on it as I'm guessing)
we don't need it and as we are no longer living where it is stored, we would rather someone took it before it goes walkie's or just rots away.
Open to offers, we don't know the going rate for good seasoned firewood today so offer what you think it's worth by posting here or send me a PM.
You will need to collect it from it's location about 7km from Lathus Saint Remy.

I'm looking for some odd large containers for use in the garden, we ended up using an old bath last year for growing a few bits of veg in as I couldn't get the garden done. It worked well and the height was perfect, so if anyone has any odd large containers about knee height to give away please let me know as I may be able to grow some veg in them.

I see it's the annual garden festival in Montmorillon this weekend. We went last year and we're very impressed with the range of plants (and prices!) on offer.
Any hints and tips about good buys would be very welcome.

I'm toying with the idea of knocking through a wall into the shed at the back of the house, has anyone attempted this or do you have any idea of approximate cost for a professional to do it?
It's the usual 50cm or so thick ground floor old stone wall, and the area I would like out is 2.5mt x 2.5mt
To be honest after seeing how easy our old Barn wall came down one day I'm not to keen to give it a go myself, but I'm still curious if anyone had done it themselves.
Or if you had one done by a professional would you mind giving me an idea of costs involved, I just need the hole knocking through and obviously a support lintel put in and the sides made solid.

Hello all.
I'm about to install an above ground wooden pool and would like put some cheap polypropylene carpet under it for insulation and comfort - a total of 25m2. So far I haven't been able to find any local suppliers. Furniture shops just seem to look offended in a French way when I eschew their recommendations of fine wools. I did explain that I wanted to put it under a swimming pool in one establishment and I received the distinct impression that I would not be admitted again. ..
