Parking Restrictions in Blue Areas

Bonjour,

I have one of those time indicators that one displays when parking in the blue parking slots in Montmorillon but haven't used it in several months. Could someone tell me what the time allowance now is before I travel in from somewhat afar? Many thanks if you can help me out,

If it's like the one I have for Confolens, you set the time of arrival and should then depart before the last time visible in the window - which for us is 90 minutes.

I thought the Blue Zones were for anyone as long as it's not longer than an hour. Can you explain a bit more please as I didn't know you needed an indicator.

#1 Do you have to have an indicator to park in a Blue area ?

#2 Are they for anyone ?

#3 Where do you get them ?

#4 I usually just park and leave within an hour am I at risk of a fine ?

Les disques sont aussi en vente dans les grandes surfaces, certains bureaux de tabac et à l'Office de Tourisme.

Utilisation en zone bleue : du lundi au samedi, de 9h à 12h et de 14h à 19h sauf dimanches et jours fériés. Indiquez sur votre disque format européen votre heure d'arrivée.
Stationnez gratuitement dans les deux heures qui suivent (17€ d'amende encourue, article R 417-3 du Code de la route). Le fait de porter sur ce disque des indications horaires inexactes, ou de modifier les indications initiales sans que le véhicule ait été remis en circulation est également passible d’une contravention de 17€.

Since 1 January 2012, you must use the European disk to park in the blue zone. It is obligatory and valid everywhere in Europe. The maximum allowed time is two hours in Montmorillon.

The discs are also for sale in supermarkets, some tobacconists and at the Tourist Office.

Use in blue zone: Monday to Saturday, from 9h to 12h and 14h to 19h except Sundays and holidays. Indicate your time of arrival on your European format disk.
Park for free within two hours (17 € fine incurred, article R 417-3 of the Highway Code). Carrying inaccurate timetable information on this disc, or modifying the initial indications without the vehicle being put back into circulation, is also punishable by a fine of € 17.

Thank for that stfane86. I have parked in those blue zones many times to pop in somewhere without one. I must have been lucky  

I will have to hunt one out, do you or anyone else know the cost?

In Montmorillon, the tourist office usually says they have none/sold out. The Tabac opposite the Tourist office usually has some........bout 2 euros. L`Eclerc has them sometimes, but not always.

Thank you Little Al. I better hunt one down then. I've been looking at the map that shows the Blue Zone and it's also for the roads near the Post Office, we parked there not long ago for around 45 Mins. Oops.
