Well I went to the Tresor to pay a bill that I really wanted explaining, why it was so much?
The reception lady on the desk with the Look of thunder as soon as she knew you were English.... Could she smile I wondered? Or was that not the her way of welcoming people?
Went to see the guy on the payment desk, I smiled and said my French was not excellent but I can get through "if he would speak slowly" he spoke so fast, I did ask him to slow down, but !
I ended up paying the full amount, even though I know it should not have been so much.
The thing I did notice while waiting to be served.....not One Single Notice in English?
How many English use, live in the area that have to use that office!
Thank goodness I do not have to use them very often.
Did think to myself, back at our holiday home in the UK every official office you visit,
Notices are in every language you could think of and if you cannot speak English they will get someone who can speak your language . And you do get a smile of encouragement.
Oh well and now they want all the international banks to move to Paris! Don't make me laugh.
