We used to get bombarded with cold/nuisance/sales calls all the time - usually, for some unknown reason, on a Thursday.
In the end it got so bad we asked France Telecom to do something about it which of course they didn't. French industry and customer service don't really go hand in hand.
We are now ex-directory and the calls have just about stopped.
Any that do slip through are dealt with me asking in a very loud voice; "Madame, do you speak English?" Oddly the line then goes dead. Keeps me amused.
