The sports bar there is quite happy for you to eat your fish n chips in there if your buying a drink ( as is the bar in La Dorat. Check on line for dates and menu. Give them a ring and pre order too as sometimes they are so popular they sell out. The fish and chips are really good and worth the trip!
Lussac les eglises often has had live music outside, on the Thursday's in the warmer months, as an added bonus.
Love the creperie and favourite local restaurant is Le lucellus at hotel de France.

Thanks Huw for the heads up on where the chippy van will be. I didn't know it came a bit closer to La Trimouille. We are staying in the Hotel de France in a couple of weeks when we come over to sign for the house, so we will give Le Lucellus a try. Any recommendations on what to go for on the menu? We pretty much like anything.

The Etcetera magazine is also available online = https://www.etceteraonline.org/ and you can sign up to be sent a reminder/URL link on a monthly basis for each new edition.  That will give you dates and times for the chippie.  Page 26 of the current edition has the info for Lieglet - that's reasonably close to La Trim for you.

Thank you for that Chris. It's been quite interesting joining this forum already. Getting quite a few bits and bobs of info as we go.

Not wishing to tread on any toes of folk who have already posted on this thread, that "pesky" fish and chip van can easily be tracked by looking at http://www.fish-et-frites.com for upcoming dates and locations.

Just saying.... Whistle

Apologies, I failed to notice that the spell check had removed the hyphens when I put the Fish et Frites link in my first post Sad

The Anglais fish and chip so beloved by Engllish folk - and a large number of the French - is no longer.

After eight years they appear to have jacked it in and set up a restaurant in a place I have never heard of nor have any idea of where it might be.  For the curious among you it is called Le Repos, Lac de Mondon, 87160 Cromac.

Have a look at https://www.fish-et-frites.com for confirmation they have parked-up the van and battered their last cod. Sad

Wonder if it could be converted into an ice cream van?  Mr Whippy in France rather appeals.  Or would our garlic eating chums get the wrong idea? Whistle

That's a shame.  When our daughter got married here in Adriers Fish et Frites attended to provide lunch on the Sunday following the ceremony.  All the guests were singing their praises long into the evening.

However,  on chatting to them I discovered that their very photogenic Citröen van had a maximum speed of 55kph which made getting around a slow business.
