If you are trying to register for membership and you get the following message.
Quote:Your details match those of a known spammer, therefore you have been disallowed registration.
All new registrations have to go through a Stopforumspam.com check. there is nothing we can do for you from this side, and you will need to contact them directly. here is a statement from their website:
Quote:I'm listed on your site but I'm not a spammer Firstly, its not an accusation of anything. A lot of the information that is listed is gathered from "honeypots" setup to trap spammers. Being listed on the site doesn't mean you have been sending spam. The IP address that you have, mightve been inherited from someone that spammed, someone may have just used your email address or even that you have downloaded a virus or trojan. If you use the removal page and be polite, then we can figure out what has happened and get it fixed.
We also check each registration with Project Honey Pot If your IP is listed you are likely to get banned. You should take it up with them or your IP provider.
We don't want to stop genuine people from joining Around Montmorillon but we have had to take this action to protect our members. On occasions it could happen that you share your IP with registered spammers, this is unfortunate. and again you should talk to your provider. As a last resort if you have tried all of the above and still feel there is no reason for you not to be a member please contact us and we will see what we can do for you.

You may not have time to visit the forum to see if there are any new threads, but you can get an email if someone starts a new thread in a section you are interested in.
Lets say you always want to know if anyone starts a new thread in Introductions so you can pop in and say hello.
Go to that board and just under the New Thread button you will see "Subscribe to this forum" click that, and you will get an email if a new thread is started in Introductions.
Note: you can subscribe to as many forums as you wish, but you will only get notified if you have "Instant email notification" turned on in your UserCP options.
So now you can keep a check on your favourite boards via email.

Want to be different to everyone else and have an Avatar (Photo in your profile and posts ?)
Click "User CP" in the green bar just below the main menu, then Under your profile on the left click "Change Avatar"
You can choose one of the default Avatars, or load your own. A Google search for "Avatars For Forums" should find you something. or you can use your own photo, If using your own photo this website is handy https://shrinkpictures.com maximum avatar size 100x100 pixels and 50 KB
You have 2 options to add your avatar the first option is to download from your computer. Click the "Browse" button and choose an image from your computer. The second option is to link to an off site avatar by pasting the URL. I would recommend you save your avatar to your computer and use option 1 because if you use option 2 the avatar may be removed by the people that host it or they could change the avatar to something else.
Still not sure ask away, we would rather you have an avatar as it makes you different.

By default there are User titles/ranks. When you first join you are a "Newbie" after 5 posts you become a "Novice" and so on.
Bonus: As you move up through the ranks there are perks like using the PM system, starting polls, posting in certain sections, and more. Once you have made 10 Posts you can choose your own User title/rank or stick to the default ones as you progress. To use your own Title/Rank click "User CP" / "Edit Profile" and on the right hand side you see a new box "Custom User Title" make your choice scroll down and click "Update Profile"

When you register as a member you can read messages sent to you by other members but you can't send any until you have made 5 posts.
Click "Private Messages" in the bar just below the menu. from here you can use the internal message system. it works similar to emails with an inbox, compose message, sent items, trash, etc.
You can also send another member a PM by clicking on a members post.
Keep an eye on your % of PM space used after 5 posts you can have 25 messages in your folders. after 10 posts you can have 50 messages in your folders. etc.
*Please let us know if you are getting PMs from another member that you would class a spam, trolling, or bullying.

Did you know as a member of Around Montmorillon you have a Personal Notepad?
To access your Personal Notepad click "User CP" in the menu bar when logged-in, then scroll down and there it is. Put in your content and click "Update Notepad"
Your Personal Notepad can only be seen by you and is not seen by other members (but please remember it is stored on the forum database) the database is protected, but it wouldn't be wise to include personal information like bank details etc just in case!
