Fred - do they have the flyers in the tourist office in Montmorillon and surrounding towns such as Lussac les Chateaux, L'Isle Jourdain and Bellac?
If not I'd be happy to print some out and see if they'd take them.

Not as far as I know Brian. I did put some in some of the Montmorillon supermarkets a long time ago (with permission) but I've not done anything since.

I tried contacting the tourist office in Montmorillon and a few others when I first took over Around Montmorillon asking if they had someone that spoke English that would like to post events but none came back to me.  Confused

I really like Around Montmorillon, and Fred deserves (at least) 3 cheers - and possibly a couple of cases of red and a wheelbarrow of cheese.

I like the fact that it's so supportive,  with none of the daft flouncing and pouncing that infests so many online communities.

Having said that,  I'm surprised it's not busier.
But would we like it to be busier?
If so,  what about a new thread to collect promotional ideas, in which people make suggestions about how to spread the word to all and sundry?

Brian

Just gave me an idea with your 'chip in' comment. How about chasing that chippie van and slapping a stack of your fliers on their counter? Especially in the spring/summer months when I'm sure the Brits in this part of France will track down the smell of fish and chips.
Also, is there a link to this forum in the etcetera mag? And what about how us Brits always seem to end up at a garden centre or at the markets. These seem like the ideal places for fliers to be handed out. Just a thought.

As long as you have permission to put the flyers then I have no problem with you spreading the word. As for the Etctera I've never approached them, I did add a box on the https://aroundmontmorillon.com/portal.php "Want this space" asking if anyone with a website would be interested in link exchange but no one has ever asked.

I'm sorry I don't have enough time to promote Around Montmorillon myself as I'm kept busy with my other forum, but I can always make changes to the forum if needed. Maybe we could add a links page where we could add links in exchange for one back to here, but someone else would have to take it on. So if anyone is interested in taking on the promotion of Around Montmorillon let me know and we can have a chat.

You're welcome Little Al, I don't get much time to use it myself but I'm glad to see it being of use and I'm happy to keep it running.

So keep posting everyone.  Shake

Yep you all just need to come up with the odd post now and again to help keep it active. It's like I said in this post RE: Feedback on using this site for selling or freebies Catch 22 Wink
