Sorry I don't have a prize, but you never know there could be one next time.

Fred,

Just to demonstrate how sad I can be - you're, for some reason, in Le Dorat and have been so obviously stricken by the hideousness of that "sculpture" you just had to take a snap.

Or....you've just staggered out of the excellent La Marmite having had a rather wonderful lunch and, fully refreshed, fired off your state-of-the-art digital wotsit simply because you didn't understand what you were looking at.

You're not alone. I don't have a clue as to what it's meant to be.

Pip pip,

Admiral

Fred,

This little jape could run longer than Coronation Street.

Initially, I thought this was a view of the Gartemp from the bridge running between Thiat and St Remy but now not so sure.

You do however own a rather natty Aussie style hat to keep the incessant rain at bay and a handcrafted walking stick. Errr....time for bed.

Pip pip,
Admiral

This was a gift from the town of Wissembourg in Alsace to the town of Le Dorat to say thanks for taking in people during the war

Doh I was thinking of running it as a competition each month, but can see it's going to be difficult with you around. Try the next post. Tongue

Thanks for that piece of info Millar there are a lot of war memories around this area and sometimes we forget.

Maybe you could suggest they put up a little plaque to explain what it's about as I'm sure a lot of people will wonder.
