Thanks Fred.
Very interesting on several fronts. First of all how did Hollande get away with imposing such a massive tax hike without his fellow countrymen taking to the streets and burning sheep and stuff?
Secondly, what constitutes a second home?
We were told when we bought our shabby ruin in France that Capital Gains tax would decrease the longer we owned it before selling. Obviously not true any more.
More importantly, is this court ruling going to go the way of the stealth tax imposed by the electricity companies? The EU rules it is illegal for us to subsidise the building of those hideous and virtually useless wind turbines and urges everyone to claim compensation. I did. And got nothing.
Or is France just a law unto herself and we the victims?
