Lidl finally opens

The long-awaited Lidl store in Monty has finally opened.

From what I could see of the stuff on offer it should give Leclerc and SuperU at least some cause for thought.

Bigger than I thought the place would be, it seems to carry alomost everything - and cheaper than the other two mentioned above.

Let's hope and pray that for once competition actually takes off in Europe's most taxed country - err sorry, France.

Great news and good to have a bit more choice locally, though I shall miss the drive out to Lussac Les Chateaux.

I expected that Lidl UK prices would be similar to Lidl France prices, my biggest shock was the price of baby nappies, TWICE as expensive in France than the UK. I bring them over now, though hopefully this summer we might be through with the nappies...
