On the subject of gardening, as we have been. Has anyone brought their own grow bags or soil, in sealed sterile bags, over from the UK? Is it allowed?

I have never done it but I believe it can be done as long as you can prove the soil is sterile. However, grow-bags are available quite cheaply over here...
To be honest it was just for quickness. I thought if I bring them over in the Summer I’m ready to get planting quite quickly, rather than traipsing off to a garden centre, or Leclerc, if they sell them.

The answer is a resounding YES. We brought growbags out from the UK because they are far better quality than the vacumm cleaner dust the French fill theirs with. And, they're cheaper. And you can at least pick and choose what type of soil/compost you want i.e. John Innes no 3 etc etc. No brainer man.
