Back in the UK I worked as a Yoga and Pilates teacher - and I am now registered in the French system so can start teaching again.
I have recently taken over the Yoga class in Adriers, Tuesdays at 17.45-19.00, at the Salle Polyvalente, a lovely big, warm open space. The class is popular but there is room for more!
I joined the class when we first arrived here because I really liked the calm atmosphere and all the relaxation. The exercises were not too challenging and the result was a feeling of refreshment and well-being. When the teacher moved away this Summer, the group was unable to find a replacement and so I broke cover and declared myself, and here I am! I thoroughly enjoy teaching and I hope I can continue the good work of the previous Professeur.
The class aims to create flexibility, relaxation and mindful movement catering for a range of abilities including beginners, and those returning to exercise following illness or injury.
I teach in (basic) French, but I am English so would be delighted to accommodate any English speaking participants. The class is organised by the Comite de Loisirs, and the charge is around 5 euros per class, which is invoiced whenever the committee get round to it - generally termly. If you think you might like to give it a try to see if you like it, you can try 3 sessions free before committing yourself.
Most people bring their own mats, cushions and blankets, but I have a few spare ones available on request.
You are very welcome to come and join us - just let me know you are coming, and I will contact Patricia who organises everything.
I also have a well-equipped Yoga and Pilates studio at home and I would like to offer all Around Montmorillon members a one-hour private or shared lesson for no charge - please get in touch for more information on this or any of the above.
Qualifications? I originally trained as a classical dancer in the 70s - which means I am of a certain age and I understand about aches and pains!
I have an internationally recognised 200 hour Yoga Diploma.
I am also a Certified Pilates Instructor for matwork and equiment such as reformer.
There is more info about my background on my old UK website: http://www.centredself.co.uk.
