The bar at Thiat (which used to be run by Paul and Tara), has now re-opened, serving REAL ALE (Bombardier and Directors), and with a decent range of menu choice. In need of proper beer, I took myself of on an explore and had a couple of pints of the real thing which I must say is expertly kept by the boss - a little Northern chap I only know by the name of John.

The locals - both English and French - speak highly of the grub generally and the Sunday roast in particular.  I would book myself in but I don't want to look like a Billy-No-Mates sitting on my own.

But I might go back on Sunday for.....................beer............

How far is Thiat from La Trimouille? Anybody know? Might give this place a visit in the Summer. Also, what is the name of the bar?

It used to be called "Les Pinsons"........may now just be "Le Bar"..........but the crucial tel number is 0587 59 60 65.

Booking not essential, but a good idea for Sunday lunch/fish and chip nights, and to ensure they are open.

from La Trimouile, about 25 EASY mins, ...........from La Trimouille towards Le Dorat, turn off towards Azat le Ris.......then follow map/sat nav.
Worth the 25 min drive though.

Thanks Al, I've probably been there you know, but although I recognise the names of the places, I can't quite get my bearings yet. Just about know my way around the village
