Hello Admiral, by what I understand it's to do with Chronopost being to lazy to deliver to the designated address and they need somewhere to dump them. I paid €20 for delivery of the parcel to my house near Lathus and all I got was a text saying it had been dropped of at Les Temps Des Livres in Montmorillon (Yes it's the book shop on the corner across the road from the Grand Rue where the fish shop used to be)

I have collected numerous packages from Les Temps Des Livres in Montmorillon and they could not have been more charming or helpful. Confirmation of first name - and, once, a quick look at my ID - was all they asked for. I found it a welcome relief from the 3rd degree imposed by our local post office in the UK!
Hello Bhouse, that's nice to hear that they can give good service sometimes, but on this occasion unfortunately they failed big time. 5 minutes after Mrs Fred left the shop with the parcel the tracking was updated to say it had been collected, they refused point blank to look on the internet with the tracking number while she was there yet managed to go and say it had been collected. It's bad enough having to travel from Lathus to Montmorillon only to get poor service, and at the end of the day if they had just looked on the internet as requested they would have seen it was there. Maybe they were having a bad day and can hopefully learn from it, and remember that the customer is important to their business.
Welcome to the Around Montmorillon Forum by the way.
