Nearest I've found to what I would call "proper" cream is a little number called Creme pour professionnel. Hyper U used to sell it. LeClerc front desk staff say they've never heard of it. Thanks for the help chaps.
It might be UHT but the main ingredient is milk and it whips up a treat for trifles and is good in all sorts of desserts, sauces etc etc.
