Some considerable time ago Brian gave me some very helpful information and asked me to write about my experience of moving from Orange to SOSH for our landline and internet broadband.
So first of all an apology it was a considerable time ago - I will blame the intervening year on wanting to test the swap over for issues and problems but truthfully, laziness was involved somewhere!
The salient point is that it was a painless swap over, and a year later, there have been no problems whatsoever. The beauty of the swap is that SOSH is a division/company under the Orange umbrella and is significantly cheaper for virtually the same service.
I was able to log onto the SOSH website with my Orange credentials and begin the swap over online. I was able to pick a date and time for the swap over so that was helpful. I did have to make use of an online translation app a couple of times but it was all relatively simple. All the paperwork was sent by email rather than needing to visit any Orange Boutiques. The swap over meant we lost the internet and the phone for about one hour but that was to be expected. The cost in November 2022 was then €19.99 for a copper line Internet and €29.99 for their fibre broadband. There
So a year later, some thoughts - I* wish I had done it sooner! Swapping in October 2022 saved us €17 immediately from what we were paying Orange and we have not had any problems. I had ticked the box on the application to say that I wanted the monthly payments to come from the same bank account and there wasn't even a hiccup there. The only downside is that SOSH are totally online and there are no shops/boutiques or an English-speaking helpline but that wasn't been an issue for us. We also had to send back the TV that we never used and Orange provided a postage paid label for that
There has been a price rise (obviously!) and we now pay €20,99 per month which is still very cheap compared to Orange. It also gives us unlimited calls to landlines in mainland France and to landlines in over over 100 destinations including Europe, USA, Canada, Morocco, Turkey, Morocco, Turkey and China.
