The water people seem also to have peculiar charge policies. I have a garden which is separated from the house by a narrow lane. When I bought the house and garden a week ago it was registered to me as a single acquisition. However, I have received two separate demands for water: one for the house, a second for the garden. Both impose the same annual charge (60 euros) plus a charge per cubic metre used. The house is connected to main drains; the supply from a single tap in the garden soaks into the ground, i.e. no sewage connection. This seems discriminatory. Can anyone shed light on this please?
