I only ask because we have a house and garden outside Monty sitting there doing nothing, weeds runnng riot etc and costing us money.
I thought picking the brains of the front line troops with their boots on the ground might bring more answers than Bumbling Boris or Little Emmanuel Bonaparte as to the real situation of when we can get to France and how you see things evolving in the coming months.
From a UK point of view I can't see these so-called Vaccine Passports working if we can't travel to a high Covid rate country. Apart from the fact they are just a back door method to a national ID card. Which is a very bad thing. In the words of the song; "If you tolerate this then your children will be next."
There. That was a cheery post wasn't it. Not.
We're in the same position.
I don't agree with a vaccine passport and if that was implemented I would just not travel. However, I think it's more likely we'll be required to test before travelling to France, which would be more acceptable.
We're hoping to be over sometime in June/July, finger crossed.
As Brian has said, if you travel by car and through the tunnel it's pretty safe. I can't see the French missing out on all that tourism money. They know darn well, in the UK at any rate, trying to enforce anything too strict over the summer is not going to work - people want to and will go outside. They'll relax things, make it look like it was their idea and not people ignoring their tyranny!!!
I do NOT tolerate this and my child will NOT be next.
If that means my house in France falls to rack and ruin, so be it.
An ID card is one thing. A report of one's vaccination status to travel or access basic services is entirely another thing.
People should not be coerced into vaccination, especially for a disease which has a 99% recovery rate. We have a right to choose medical treatment, there should not be conditions attached. We should not be left with no choice and excluded from society because we do not consent to be vaccinated. Also, if the vaccine does not stop you from contracting and transmitting the disease, what purpose does it serve and what is the point then of the vaccine passport?
Phew, I feel better. No doubt some of you will not agree with me.
This is not an easy time, I don't say these things lightly. I would love to come to France this year and be with like minded family members, enjoy the food, drink and countryside. But, there are somethings I will not tolerate.
