The Electoral Commission is recommending ex pats register to vote using a proxy vote and to NOT rely on the unreliable postal vote system. The proxy vote sees you nominate a trusted person to vote on your behalf in the UK. Or you can opt for "in person" proxy vote which involves your trusted person being sent a postal ballot and they post it back to your local polling station by UK post.
We shall be in the UK for December. I am happy to act as a 'in house proxy' - message me if you are interested.
