I can only echo that we travel back and forth several times a year to our place in La Trimouille, always bringing our dog with us, via the channel tunnel route. Never had any problems doing this and he gets to stay with us in the car for the relatively short journey through. We just couldn't leave him in the car alone on the ferry, so that's not an option for us at all. Good luck
