What made these holes?

Agreed. Six years ago I encountered these at 2am in our un-renovated house. They were SO cute!! Three hours later, still awake the novelty had worn off. At that time, they wern`t protected and poison was still on sale in Leclerc. It took 3 further (sleepless) nights before the deed was done. ZZZZZZZ. SUCCESS!

Yes it's a shame but if they cause destruction or steal your food then you have no option. I was tempted to use Rat Poison, but I'm a bit worried in case it is a Toad. I would hate for him to eat the poison, I don't know if they do or not but I don't want to risk killing a Toad.

Also I'm not keen on poison as it's in the polytunnel next to our tomatoes.
