The rub here is this: how does this work? Who checks that each household has a smoke detector?
Has M. Hollande found a way around increasing unemployment and imminent deflation by hiring an army of petty minded bureaucrats who will march from house to house armed with their clipboards demanding to see smoke detectors?
I think not. But there are again we are in France and anything is possible.
Just wondering....
As far as I know there will be no official checks, but should you have a fire and have a faulty or no alarm €5000 of your insurance claim will go to the government and you will get a bill from the fire brigade.
Mine is still in it's package at the top of the stairs, my theory is the packaging will melt and it will look like I had one. ..................................... Edit: Just realised there is no battery in it.
