Whenever we've ventured out into the big bad world and travelled to Paris we've used the train.
We drove into Paris once. Never again. Traffic is a nightmare and parking even worse.....this coming from a couple who are used to driving around London.
If you want, you can drive to Poitiers and park in the multi-storey next to the station.
By far the easier option is to get a local train from Montmorillon to Poitiers (about 45 min trip) and then the TGV to Paris (just under 90 minutes).
Sorry, but I can't remember the cost although memory tells me it didn't lead to an attack of the vapours.
