We use Leclerc Mobile available from their supermarket, cheapest I've found and you don't loose your credit like most others, we have two on the "Formule MINI+" tarrif just €1.50 a month each.
And I don't know if it's because both are with Leclerc but we don't pay for texts or phone calls of less than a couple of minutes between the two. Website: https://www.leclercmobile.fr/

I would second that from Fred, we use Leclerc (or Reglo Mobile as they seem to call themselves nowadays).
Very easy to top up, can be done in store - or much easier through their website, we do it online and from all over the world (yep we're travelers) and have not experienced any problems. OK call costs may not be the cheapest around, but the major benefit is that they simply charge €1,50 per month to keep the line active.

I don't like mobiles phones. People shout on them etc etc.
Just thought I'd share that with you.

That is just downright bad manners. Also, why do people have to be touch with others 24/7 for no discernible reason? Surely, whatever they've got to say can wait? We always managed. Or found a phone box. Remember them?
