Accommodation to rent

We are considering taking a career break and staying in France for a few months, maybe longer and need some accommodation.
We do have a house near Montmorillon but it's not currently habitable so we're looking to rent something affordable in the area while we work on the house. We need somewhere for at least two adults, dog and baby friendly.

Thank you, but we don't want to rent a gite or other tourist accommodation as long term this is not an affordable option for us.

I do know a Lady that has a lot of rental properties but they are all let at the moment. But she lets them through https://www.squarehabitat.fr/ and says they are very good, so it may be worth trying there or one of the estate agents.

Hi..........got just what you need ! It`s a 3 bed ,attractive house, with a large totally secure, enclosed garden.......perfect for babies and dogs. There are miles of dog walks from the house. It also even has a high chair and cot!! It has 2 large downstairs rooms as well, with woodburners in each, washing machine and tumble dryer. With 3 bedrooms, there`s room for friends and family to stay if they visit you. The village is Bourg Archmbault, 12 mins drive from Montmorillon.
It`s our holiday home, but we aren`t coming out for a good while, so would be happy for a longer term rental..... 400 euros per month plus you pay for the electric and water ? We`d continue to pay the tax d`habitation/tax fonciere..........
