Apologies if this has been asked before, and even bigger apologies if it's been asked before by me  Big Grin

Just asking about electrical dishwashers. Is it best to bring one from the UK, or are they reasonably priced over there? Has anyone got any recommendations where they may have bought one from please?

Hello Jane, we did bring ours over from the UK but when we needed a new one we purchased from Auchan Poitiers as the one we wanted was around the same price and came with a two year guarantee as most things do in France.

We also recently purchased a washing machine from Amazon.fr and were pleased with the price and delivery.

Darty will deliver free on some items. Also if you go to Poitiers or Limoges you will find Darty and Boulanger near each other, handy for comparing prices.

L'eclerc will probably have them, but we have always found they sell old stock. Nothing wrong with that usually but it may be worth checking the model on-line to find out why the model is no longer made.

Things to keep in mind.

#1 You get two years guarantee in France.

#2 French electrical goods don't have a fuse in the plug, they are usually in the machine. So if you do buy in the UK you will need to get an adapter, because if you change the plug to a French one your product will have no fuse.

Brilliant! Thanks Fred. How quick do you find the delivery dates over there from Amazon?

Great, usually a few days. It depends on what you order and where it comes from but a couple of days to a week.

We use Amazon for a lot of things and it's a good idea to compare both .co.uk and .fr as sometimes one is cheaper than the other.

Yes they will deliver most items to France.

When looking at an item it will tell you "No sellers are currently delivering this item to France" if logged in from France.

If it is available put the item in your basket and go to your basket on the right you will see "Estimate VAT postage an packaging" Click that and it will tell you the total price.

Then convert to € and see if it's cheaper on Amazon.fr if not buy from the co.uk. Wink
