Does anyone know where you can get a glass roof panel from?

I've looked at Velux but they are far to expensive and I don't need it to open. I'm looking for a solid section of double glazed roof about 1m x 1m I can stick on an out building.

Thank you.

I'd be inclined to order a made-to-measure insert then build the framework myself. There are lots of online places who'll do that - I have this lot bookmarked from when I was based in the UK.
As an example, a 780mm x 550mm panel is just under £60 inc VAT, a 780 x 550 Velux window is just over £470.

There are almost certainly French companies who will do the same but I haven't looked for any since I've been here.

If you decide to order from a UK supplier I'm having to pop back every month or so at the moment so could bring it back from my UK address for you.

Bon chance!

Great stuff Brian that's the sort of thing I was thinking of.  Thumb

After looking at that website and using google translate in reverse I've found a couple more in France that offer the same service, so I'll compare and see which is the best way to go.

I was thinking the only way possible was velux, but you have pointed me in the right direction.

Thank you.

Probably of no use, but I have a glass wet room sheet (so ,reinforced, but single glazed), about 500mm x 1700mm, (guessing as I`m not here today to measure), which is cheap as chips .
Let me know if it`s any use.

Thank you for the offer Brian I'll keep it mind. But knowing me it could be another 10 years before I get around to doing it.  Whistle

Thank you Little Al, but that wouldn't be any good as it must be double glazed.

You're welcome to put it in For Sale / Freebies someone else may want it.

If exact size isn't important why not contact a double glazing company in your area that might have the odd rejected units ( when I say rejected I don't mean faulty ) but made to the wrong size ....they do get them occaisionally and worth an ask

That could be worth a try, but we don't have many glazing companies around here and knowing the French it would be double the price of a made to measure panel.  Big Grin

The French seem to have this thing that second hand/reject/etc is worth a Kings ransom. For example a car you would pay to have taken away in the UK would be advertised at €10,000000000 here, and they would sit on it for 100 years till it sold.  Big Grin
