Fosse septic

Hi

We are in the process of buying a small house in hamlet of Varenne near La Trimouille, and or course the fosse septic is not up to scratch, does anybody know a good local company who installs septic tanks  or treatment  plants

Hello Shane welcome to Around Montmorillon.  

We used a French man that done an excellent job, but I've just found out he has retired now. I know that doesn't help, but I wanted to say make sure you use a registered company.

I would also say, not only use a registered company but also get at least two Devis (quotes) it's important to be careful as there are some dodgy people out there that are not properly skilled or registered and it could cause you problems later on.

You could try asking your neighbours or at your local Mayor they may have suggestions. Hopefully someone will wake up and give you a better answer, but please do update once you get sorted as it could help someone in the future.

Hi Shane,

I realise this was a long time ago - but we have also just bought a small house just outside of La Trimouille (up towards Liglet).  I would be interested in how you got on fitting your Fosse and if you would reccomend the people who installed it?

We are still living in the UK and going to and from the house at the moment.  We seem to spend the first three days (re) cutting all the grass before we can do any of the other jobs
