Hi members, joined a while ago but finally purchased and just moved into house in Montmorillon.

Anyone have a recommendation for fitting flyscreens in Montmorillon.  Lady who we purchased from had the windows done by
 Brunet Menuiserie

i know there is a uk run company UPVC master who do flyscreens as well.

Ps just got pass for the bins ,struggling with French at the moment. It says 12 goes then start paying is that 12 a month? Plus only see plastic and glass bins nothing for cardboard or where are compost bins ?.

Does the 12 include the dechetrie

Hello Lawson we got our fly screens from Leclerc, but you can find them at other places, easy to install yourself by just cutting to size and a few screws.

*Usual rules measure three times and cut once, but once you have done one it gets easier and it's a lot cheaper.

As for your bins I'm not sure about Montmorillon town, but for us it is every two weeks and we can put out a black and yellow bin. They gave us the bins but I think in town you may have larger communal ones, but I'm not sure.

Cardboard goes in the yellow bin, and as for compost you can get a bin from Simer for €15 but again I think in town there are communal ones, it may be worth making another thread about the bins as I'm not sure to be honest.

Hi Fred

Yes no bins for us ,strange as next street i have seen they have a black and a yellow bin.  There is a communal.bin for blac bags using card and a yellow plastic  bin.   Further up a glass one.

I shouldnt complain but Simer not cheap and you have to buy a compost one lol . Plus walk to bins get rid of rubbish.  No cardboard bins so i guess its dechetterie or if going elsewhere shopping etc where they have a cardboard one.

Not to keen on the do it yourself lol especially as need a door one and have dogs but thank you for replying.

We put our cardboard in the yellow bin, had no problems. Yes Simer is not cheap and even though they encourage you to take your cuttings etc to the dechetrie they also charge a fortune to buy it back to put on your garden.

We have gone back to the old days of dumping stuff like that at the bottom of our garden, but we have plenty of room. There is a bike and probably soon a lawnmower down there, but it's no longer easy to get rid of stuff.

Sorry I couldn't help more, hopefully others will chip in but if you do find and answer please come back as it may help others.

I get not wanting to do the fly screen work yourself, but the biggest tip I could give would be to get at least two but maybe three quotes/devis to compare prices. Thumb

You should have two bins: one yellow (for recyclable stuff) and one black (non recyclable). They won't accept glass in either of these bins - you'll need to take bottles etc to a communal bin. The Simer website tells you where they can be found. Food waste needs to be composted, and you can buy compost bins from Simer or any brico place.

Simer collect the bins every two weeks, so 24 times a year - you can check which days for your commune at the bottom of this page on their website.

The standard annual fee (which varies according to the size of household and thus size of bins) covers 12 collections of your two bins. Additional collections incur additional costs. There's are usually 2 bills per year, one in May and one in November or December.

Visits to the déchetterie are free and you're allowed to take in up to 5m3 per visit. I don't know if there's a limit on how often you can visit though.
