Hi - me again!

I have noticed a few times on this forum the suggestion to go back to the notaire.

I dont think i realised that we could access the Notaire after the legalities of the house purchase had taken place.

I have vague memories of our estate agent telling us to send an IBAN to them in case we had a refund on the payments (we didn't do this - is it too late?)

And more generally, do we just drop in, ask for an appointment - how does it work?

Any information welcome.   Thumb

Hi,
easy... just give a call to the Notaire Office and ask for an appointment: it's free! (specially if related to the house you purchased )
Mike
Funnily enough, I needed to get my notaire to witness a document recently. I popped into their office to ask the secretary if I could make a rendezvous and she told me proudly that they had moved over to an electronic system and I could make an appointment by emailing le Maitre direct. "But I'm here now - can't we set it up now?" "Non - c'est pas possible..."

So I drove home, sent an email and received a reply within 30 minutes offering me an appointment the following Monday. At the meeting, all the documents were notarised, stamped and copied and I was on my way within 30 minutes - all at no charge...

So yes - don't hesitate to visit your notaire on any legal-related matters. If the notaire is not the right person, they will certainly point you in the right direction.
