We've finally moved here to France and need to get private health insurance sorted before we are able to apply for our carte vitale. We have had some absolutely ridiculous quotes online and I'm going spare trying to find a company that's not going to cost an arm and a leg. Has anyone got any recommendations please? I thought that private health insurance was a requirement for obtaining the necessary visa to enable UK nationals to take up residence in France, unless you are not UK nationals but EU passport holders.
I have dual nationality. I’m here on my Irish passport. I want some health insurance whilst I wait to get the carte vitale.

With regard to health insurance, I can recommend
Fab Insurance.
It's run by a very knowledgeable chap called Fabien. The company is fluent in English, and are excellent at recommending the right product to suit your needs.

That is great Jane. Whilst I have not used them I have heard good things about FAB insurance as mentioned by Brian.

Thanks for the welcome Brian...forgot to say that earlier. Also thank you so much for that link for fab insurance. Just spoke with Marianne there, who is English speaking too, so that helped greatly and we are going with them. Much more reasonable than what we found so far.
