Lately I've been getting a lot of annoying phone calls, It's bad enough getting unwanted phone calls as it is but the ones I'm getting now are automated.

I pick the phone up and get an auto message telling me I have an important call, or it tells me to push 1 for this 2 for that etc.

Just wondered if anyone else is getting these as I have told freinds/family they will have to talk to my answerphone before I pick up, though the other day one of the automated calls started rabbiting on to my answerphone.

Angry Thumbsdown Wall

Any suggestions or solutions gratefully received.
We used to get bombarded with cold/nuisance/sales calls all the time - usually, for some unknown reason, on a Thursday.

In the end it got so bad we asked France Telecom to do something about it which of course they didn't. French industry and customer service don't really go hand in hand.

We are now ex-directory and the calls have just about stopped.

Any that do slip through are dealt with me asking in a very loud voice; "Madame, do you speak English?" Oddly the line then goes dead. Keeps me amused.Rolleyes

Don't suppose you could give me a Dummies Guide on how to do that? Huh
If you're with Orange (FT) and you have an online space (espace client) then you can look up the option of Liste Rouge

That's how I set it up for our number - straightforward and all done via the internet.

There's always the slightly less private option of...

Quote:Liste anti-prospection (anciennement Liste Orange) : vos coordonnées ne sont pas utilisées à des fins commerciales, mais sont transmises à l'ensemble des éditeurs d'annuaires et fournisseurs de services de renseignements.

sorry for the cut'n'paste hope your French is up to it,
Yes I'm with Orange Unfortunately!

I've only seen "Liste Rouge" for unwanted Emails, but I will have another look when I can get into my damn account. Wall
When you've logged in, look for "FIXE" to indicate the correct tab for landlines, then if you've not already tied your number to your online space it should let you do so.

After that then both of these options should become available and if I recall correctly they are both Free of Charge eek
Nope cant see FIXE so far any idea were it is top bottom etc?
Hang on I've found "ajouter un compte" I will see if I can get that to work, but although I'm with Orange their website is the slooooooooooooooooooooowest on the planet.

Thanks Steve I will report back in 2016. Big Grin
OK Think I got it.

Logged in to my Espace Client and clicked "ajouter un compte" Click and enter (Phone Number) indiquez le numéro de téléphone ou l'adresse mail du compte à ajouter.
And (Client Number on invoice) indiquez le numéro client figurant sur la facture.
That will allow you see internet and phone line accounts in one place.

In the page for your phone scroll down to “mieux utiliser ma ligne fixe” and click s'inscrire sur Liste Rouge ou Liste anti-prospection. I went for Liste Rouge.

A new window opens Click “souscrire” and guesse what? Another window opens.

Enter the phone number you want listed, an Email, and a phone number Click “Valider”

Now just wait and see if it’s in the next directory and the annoying phone calls stop. Knowing Orange FR that could take about 143 years Big Grin

Thanks for the help Steve.
Ya gotta love these French websites and their weird navigation routes.

Glad you seem to have it all sorted out now.
