Hello,

We are hoping to plant our garden with a variety of fruit (and possibly nut) trees and bushes, plus a vegetable plot.

Are there any things that we can grow here that we wouldn't be able to grow in South Wales (UK)?

Where is a good place to buy plants and trees near La Trimouille?

Thanks

Kit
Ooh - the world is your tropical paradise.
Peaches, apricots, nectarines, walnuts to name but 4! I'd ask at the local plant centre what they recommend.

I don't know of any garden centres near la Trimouille, but I use the Agriflor on the D10/D729 just outside L'Isle Jourdain. They are full of good advice and have large and varied stocks.

That sounds fantastic - I did have a peach tree, but it always looked sad and never thrived.

Will take a visit to Agriflor when we are over next week.

Thanks,  Kit

There is an English couple who own La Jardinerie at St Leger Magnazeix. Very helpful and sell all sorts and their prices and quality of products is good. We have bought plants, herbs and shrubs from them for a few years now, always helpful and friendly. Think they can be found on Facebook their tel number is 0555687376'hope this may be of help.
Thanks! That's a new one on me.

St Leger Magnaziex is about 40km South East of Montmorillon: here on Google Maps.
There's the Garden Centre next to the Super U in Montmorillon also. I haven't been there since last Summer, so hoping it is still there.
Hi Jane - good to hear from you.
The garden centre next to SuperU in Montmorillon is still there.

The one I mentioned between Adriers and L'Isle Jourdain has a MUCH better selection of shrubs and trees for those searching for something that makes more of a statement - or fruit for that matter!
