I've just checked the people I used to buy from (SARL Delaveau in Sillars) and they no longer supply firewood.
Oddly enough, they now do a fine job of supplying sound and lighting equipment.
I'd like to know what led them down that path...

Well here's a surprise - SARL Delaveau are still in business.
I've just had 10 stere of 2 year seasoned oak from them.
They'll supply various lengths (30/40/50cm) and any logs larger than about 10cm diameter are split. Really big ones are split twice or more.
According to my moisture meter, the logs I've tested are all between 13% and 18% moisture. By next winter they'll be more than dry enough.
