I was just reading that we have to wear masks outside, I didn't know it was compulsory in all areas, I thought it was just large towns.

There is a map where you can check Here

Not sure if we have to wear one to go across the road to our garden, but it does look like we have to wear one in our village. .......................................... Must be to protect the odd sheep we may bump into as it's not the people.  Big Grin
I noticed that. Apparently, I need to wear a mask when I'm in the garden.
As it's more than a kilometre to the next dwelling, I must admit that I have occasionally forgotten...
I get what they are trying to do, but masks and curfew are not going to help us when it comes to growing our vegetables. Angry
That is a totally ridiculous ruling.

Which pen-pusher had too much time on their hands and dreamt up that nonsense? Angry

What??!!!!

For goodness sake

I couldn't access the map but will assume the worst as I have close neighbours who would love to report me for not wearing a mask in my own garden.
I wouldn't worry about it. I think that the relevant department just called up a map of anywhere with inhabitants and drew a 100m circle around any houses to identify masquable areas.
I hear that in France everyone is mask compliant - is that true?

We live in London and while most do where the mask, many still don't. Currently there is nowhere really to go except the supermarket and it's probably about 75/25 mask to non mask and not many wearing a mask outside, but quite a few wearing a mask inside their car, when alone...!
Mask wearing here seems fairly high. On the streets, I'd guess that 80% wear masks correctly. Inside shops the figure is very close to 100% - at least, in the shops I go to!

We had a delivery of firewood yesterday, and the man driving the tipper truck was fully masked up with no attempt at handshakes or bises (we've used him for 5 years ago so we've formed quite a friendship!)

I do see quite a few solo masked drivers here and I never understand why...
Yes I'm with Brian don't read too much into it. It mostly applies to busy areas, your neighbor won't report you as He/She will not be wearing one anyway.

Places you have to wear a mask.

Poitiers city center
Shops
Meetings
Hospitals
Public transport

Basically any public place with the possibly of close contact, no one in our village is wearing them all the time.

It's just one of those rules made up by someone that needs a job for a few months. If all else fails you will be asked to put a mask on, so keep one handy and you will be fine. Thumb
