Just a quick question,is there anywhere around the Montmorillon region that sells spices etc as our supplies are running low? Thanks in advance for any pointers Thanks  Clive
Hi Clive,
The best place I know is a shop called Thoune Asia, just next to Conforama in Limoges. Here's a map.
It's mainly stocked with goods from French colonial places (Vietnam, Indonesia etc) but it has a great range of spices including all those one would need for Indian cookery.

It's open 09:30-13:00 and 14:00-19:00, Monday to Saturday. Unless, of course, they decide not to open because of too many Rs in the month, loss of hamster's birth certificate etc.

Good luck,

Brian
Cheers for that Brian Thumb
Funnily enough I went down there yesterday and can confirm that their spice selection is as good as ever. I gabbed some fresh hot chillies, asafoetida, cumin and coriander seeds.

However, they no longer stock popadoms. I have registered my protest!
I went to Poitiers this week and there's a shopping arcade there. If you go upstairs on the escalator there was a shop on the left, which had spices in there. Just saying in case you ever find yourself in Poitiers.
Thanks, Jane.
I'll pay then a visit next time I'm in Poitiers. You didn't spot whether or not they sell poppadoms, did you?
Brian
Didn’t spot any of those, sorry Brian.
Hi guys

Worth a mention that the 'Shed' in Bussiere Poitevine has a selection of spices as well as some Pataks type products (curry sauces etc). Don't recall seeing popadoms but may be worth a visit if you're in the area!

All the best Cool
Thanks, Scooby. The Shed is only about 5km from me so I'll go on a poppadom hunt and report back!
Thanks for the heads up about Eco Entrepot, have seen the curry sauces, pastes and pickles and naan breads, hadn't seen popadoms sadly.Didn't give it a thought about dried spices, will do next visit though.
