Recycling: a pass to control the entrances
A smart card will be essential in 2019 to access the dump of the Simer and get the bags. Users will have to request it this fall.

This week at the dump of Montmorillon. An individual card will soon be needed to open the gate at the entrance.

From 1 January, it will be necessary to dispose of the "Pass garbage", an individual electronic card, to deposit garbage in the dump stations of Simer and to recover there the collection bags. It will also make it possible to invoice, without handling money on the spot, the purchase of compost.
A step towards
the incentive fee
"We want to make sure that the waste disposal service is well used by the people who pay for the service," says Jérôme Sazarin, Director of Simer. The sixteen waste stations represent 36% of the budget of the waste service. There will be no limitation of passage per year with the pass , he says, this possibility was not considered. Professional users already have a similar card since 2015. "
The Waste Pass will not be sent automatically to the 36,000 households: "We have chosen a voluntary act by the user to prevent a card sent by mail with the invoice being thrown inadvertently" , explains Isabelle Plisson, responsible billing service.
To obtain the Waste Pass, you will have to fill in a paper form (a T envelope will be attached) or on the website. "We recommend that you proceed as soon as possible to have the Pass at the end of the year and use it as of January 1st. We know that we will still receive many applications in 2019. "
This smart card should, over the years, have other applications in a logic of waste reduction: "We are working on the implementation of the incentive fee and this card could identify users who deposit their bags. in the points of voluntary contribution , indicates Jérôme Sazarin. The elected representatives of Simer have decided to deepen this scenario in 2019 for a possible deployment around 2021. "
A reflection on the frequencies of collection
"We are also thinking about reducing the frequency of collection, the incentive fee must create a direct link between the production of waste and the bill," said Daniel Tremblais, vice president in charge of pricing and the relationship with users.
The Simer hopes to quickly reduce the mass of black bags buried in the Vigeant: 200 kg per year and per capita now. Territories ahead in sorting and the incentive fee drop below 140 kg: "The general tax on polluting activities from 16 € per ton will increase to 65 € in 2025, if we do not reduce the weight significantly, the invoice will explode, summarizes Jerome Sazarin. Individual or collective composting should be preferred where possible, black bags contain 40% compostable waste. "
Well spotted, Michael - that had passed me by completely.
Thank you for proving the links to the relevant site - I've now signed up.

Thanks so much for posting this. I just flicked straight to how much they were charging again this year  Thumb
Thanks for that big fella.

I was totally unaware of this so presume SIMER hope it passes most people by and they won't have to supply plastic bags. Whistle

I assume it only apllies to us poor plebs that they take for a ride and not builders/plasterers etc who rely on the dechette to dump stuff?
It seems to apply to all. So that's fair...

if my understanding is correct it applies to all, professional users have a special deal..whatever it means !
Thanks Michael.

By a strange coincidence I have today received my latest - outrageously overpriced - bill from SIMER and attached to it is a very simple form that you fill, detach and send off in the reply-paid envelope for your smart pass thingy.

Simples innit. Big Grin

Much better than that hideous website they have. Wall
