Just reading on another page about fines being increased for people not picking up after their dogs. We always clean up after our dog and it's not nice when you see areas where other people aren't doing the same with theirs.

That looks like a positive step. I'm always surprised how tolerant the French are of dog fouling, given how much effort they put into town maintenance (floral displays etc).
There’s actually a little lane in our village nicknamed dog sh*t alley by the locals, in fact our son has property at one end of it. Not nice at all. I remember being really surprised too, when we first came here to visit, at the fact it is tolerated, as you say Brian.
They have signs up in Liglet telling people to pick up after their dogs. I think they were the first ones we’ve noticed around. They might be all over the place but we have only seen them there.
Funnily enough I spotted one of those signs today for the first time. However, it was in Bihorel just north of Rouen so probably won't have much affect in Montmorillon!

Yes, always annoying when you pick up after your own dogs but have to dodge what's been left by others.
Our house is enroute of someone's dog walk and they are quite happy to let the dog poo on our land, where we park the car.
