Any reasonably priced places around selling large planters for outdoors? Am I best bringing them over from the UK, or has anyone found a not too extortionate garden centre or DIY place selling them?

No is the short sharp answer in my experience.  But....someone might know of somewhere that doesn't need a second mortgage to buy decent garden pots.  Not sure why garden pots/planters are so expensive here. Huh

The good pots we have here came over from Angleterre.

Happy hunting. wave
Looks like I’ll be buying them here and bringing them over. We’ve not had any joy finding anything reasonable in the La Trimouille area, or surrounding. B&Q it is  Big Grin
I did find a supply of affordable pots but they all fractured in the frost so I really can't recommend them!

That’s a concern to think about too I suppose. I never thought about how cold it gets there in Winter. I prefer the stone pots though.
I usually put terracotta pots in the garage over winter but this year I forgot. Eleven out of twelve shattered. I'm not keen on the look of the plastic pots but I can see certain advantages! Does anyone know a source of affordable zinc planters?

The garden centre in L'Isle Jourdain sells quite a wide range of stone pots.  Well.......just pre-formed concrete.

We did buy a couple a few years ago - after speaking to the bank manager about a loan. Whistle

They have survived several winters but the cost is just plain silly. Doh
I haven’t been to that garden centre yet. I will go, but as a browser by the sound of it  Big Grin
Heads up everyone. I was in Action in Montmorillon this morning and they had some nice big planters in there for around €7 only. They were plastic, but they were a nice shade of grey and not bad at all for the price.
Well spotted! I'll be there on Friday to stock up (don't forget 10th May is a holiday).
