A word of warning.

If you've noticed your pine trees/hedges going brown in places, it's not the heat.  Which is what I assumed.

It's a nasty little bug that burrows into the heartwood to release the sap - which it loves.

I thought our miniature pines were burning in places because of the intensity of the sun/lack of water.

Not so according to a French chum.

This little bug is rampant in this area at the moment, so he says.  Even more good news....... there is no cure. Doh

He did tell me its name but the French/Latin pronunciation baffled me.

I'm easily baffled at my age. Whistle
We don't have any pine or hedges of interest, but do you know if it goes after vegetables?

Always handy to know what to watch out for, thanks for posting Admiral.
Fred.

My French chums assure me it is NOT a veggie lover.

Only likes the sap of pine trees and associated conifer hedges etc.

Must be very French if it's not a vegetarian. Whistle

Big Grin Yes the French don't have many vegetarians, and they look at you a bit odd when you say you like Broad Beans, Sweet Corn and Swede. They also find it odd that you like Mint with Lamb, yet they have Orange with Duck.

Oops I'm going a bit Off Topic

Thank you for that Admiral. I don't eat Pine so I'm ok.
