Hi.
Anyone else had their Soregies lecky bill ? Ours arrived today.
Must confess - I do not understand it !!!
We signed up for the new contract offering 10% reduction.
Our consumption year on year is about the same (actually lower in 2017).
However after the "so called" 10% reduction we have paid almost 25% more year on year.

So 3%lower consumption , 10 % reduction but 25% higher bill. ???

Should have smelled a rat when our monthy charges (we pay by 10 monthly direct debits)
went up by 25% after we signed up for the 10% reduction. I was rather expecting to have overpaid
and would be getting a cheque back.

Has anyone else found the same ??? Please enlighten me !

We had ours not long ago and it is still 10% cheaper than it used to be.

I'm thinking it's because you have Direct Debits. I think they go by your last years use to estimate what the 10 monthly payments will be.

My advise is dump the direct debit and pay by cheque. We read our own meter every two months and they send us the bill which we pay in two instatements of two cheques. They then read the meter once per year to make sure you’re not on the fiddle.

When ever we have asked about direct debit it's always much more than we have ever used in a year, so I would say stop the direct debit and read the meter yourself.
Not sure I fully understand, but I think the 10% reduction has only been going for about 6 months or so, so "year on year" increases are not related to the new contract. I also think that current bills are in fact estimates (unless you personally send in ACTUAL monthly readings, so there may well be an overestimation, resulting in an (eventual) credit. A 10% reduction may well be in effect.....others NOT on the new contract will be paying a higher tariff than you.............
The lady in the Soregies office is usually very helpful, and may be able to clarify.....
Hi Little Al.
Just checked my bill again. The readings are actual , not estimated , but they have reduced my monthly payments for next 10 months by 15 % so you may be right about the 10% reduction in tariffs only being in force for last 6 months. Will wait & see what happens in next 12 months !!!
