In case you didn't know they have official Sales Days (Dates des soldes) here, and here are the 2017 dates.

Winter: 11 January - 21 February 2017

Summer: 28 June - 8 August 2017
Thanks for that Fred and apologiews for the late reply.

I had no idea that Sales dates were actually fixed in France.  I know our French chums love their paperwork and rigid order to life but WHY? Rules

In the interests of research (my own curiosity)  I've had a squint at "SALES" items in Leclerc and Super U.

What a load of tat.

They appear to be flogging off bin loads of old socks, sets of left-footed flip-flops and general detritus that defies description.  Also, is there any guarantee, as in the UK, that the so-called sales item is actually 30% cheaper than normal?

Which only leads me to ask; why do they bother and who buys this rubbish? Whistle
Haven't you seen Fred's collection of left-handed flip-flops? It's nearly as good as my collection of right-handed threadbare socks.

All thanks to Les Soldes, I'll have you know.
Yes they are full of Tat but the excitement of taking part in a French tradition is what it's all about.

Not only do I buy up all the left handed footed Flip Flips (they can't be flip flops if they are all left) is that I have something to throw at next doors cockerel or I can use them to slap the next Jehovah that knocks on my door around the face.

However I did once buy some great little freezer pots that hold enough of my home-made passata for a pizza topping form Auchan Poitiers once and I wish I could get more. Though I have learnt to freeze them in the posts and then take them out and put in bags to reuse the posts.

Oh sorry I'm getting carried away with all this activity on AMF. And you obviously missed all that cheap Merlot in the Soldes.
