Following on from Admiral's thread: we are bringing our UK dual fuel cooker from the UK to France. We have replacement burners for the hobs, so will need to add those and fit a new hose, regulator and connector. Doing that may well be within the capabilities of a confident DIYer but as the consequences of getting it wrong could be... severe, I'd rather use a professional. Could anyone please recommend a gas fitter?
Thanks,
Brian

I rather like your use of ".....severe" a  masterly understatement. Thumb

As well as the "severe" consequences I have a funny feeling your house insurers will refuse to pay out to repair the (considerable) damage done.  I'm pretty sure all major residential gas installations in France have to be carried out by an approved fitter much the same way as Britain with CORGI registered fitters.

Are you looking to go French or English?
Bonjour Yes - I have seen the consequences of an amateur gas installation. It would have made a good contender for the Turner Prize.

As long as the fitter is properly qualified and registered I don't mind what nationality.

I'm going to sound like an old record with the needle stuck in the groove (shows my age) but again I would recommend Beauchesne in Montmorillon.  They have been out twice to repair a suspected gas leak on our (ghastly) French cooker and always service our gas central heating boiler every year.

Fully guaranted week and really nice people.  You can phone them on 05 49 91 25 26 or pop into their office in Montmorillon......which is just off the four way traffic lights.  If you were approaching from over the bridge (Commerce Bar on your right) turn left toward Leclerc, at the lights turn right.  A Voila!  Beauchesne.

Bonne chance. Thumb

By the by - the woman on the right hand desk as you go into the office speaks some English...but doesn't like people to know.  Just thought I'd mention it. Whistle
Admiral - thank you so much for reminding me about Beauchesne. They are coming this week to give us a quote for a fire installation so I may be closer to a solution than I thought. Merci mon brave!
