We've just installed some drainage to cope with the rain run off from the roof of our barn, so now have a nicely cleared and leveled piece of garden about 35m x 5m. The plan is to grass it over.

Is it worth seeding it now (early December) or should I wait until the Spring?

All suggestions gratefully received!

Now is a really, really bad time to seed a new lawn. Thumbsdown

April or September are better with, so I'm told, September being the favourite.
Thanks Admiral. That confirms my suspicions.

However, as my actual knowledge about grass is that is nice to sit on when the sun is shining I needed to bar my actions on something more than a feeling in my bones.
Depending on how nice you want the grass I have found if you just leave it a year and then start cutting it regular it turns to grass. Plus you won't be feeding the birds.  Big Grin
