Once again,i would like to pick the brains of our knowledgeable forum members.
We would dearly love to hire a piece of jungle busting machinery, whether it be a ride on mower or a brute of a push along.
Our overgrown field boundaries are getting wider and our grass taller year on year.
Our capable but small mower is starting to struggle,as are we.
Any suggestions in or around Monty would be much appreciated.
Sorry I don't know of anywhere that hires out lawnmowers, but I was just thinking it would be a good little business.
Lawnmowers, Strimmers, Chain Saws, Tree Loppers, Shredders, Etc.
Hopefully someone else will know more.

I'm with Fred here in that I don't know of anyone hiring out mowers & etc.
There is a fellow who advertises in etcetera called Gary Jones who we have used in the past. Very good, very quick and not expensive. Also registered for that type of work. He has some gigantic bit of machinery called Big Betha that seems to like eating stuff like brambles and other troublesome garden problems.

Or.....if it's trees and bigger stuff that are causing the nuisance then Stephen Fisher at La Tuilerie Tree Services is very good. And before you ask, yes we have used him which is why I would recommend his services.

As ever i would like to thank our 'forumeers' for their useful and informative responses.
Sounds as though in the long term we may have to invest in some major undergrowth taming machinery.
In the short term, the services of 'Big Bertha. may be just the trick.
Our trees aren't a problem. Its the brambles and saplings and grasses and nettles and ........................
I'm sure you get the picture.

Why not invest in a good strimmer. I have one that you can take the cord bobbin off and replace it with a cutting blade. It's not great for giving a nice cut on grass if you want a bowling lawn but you can soon get it down using the cord, and the blades are good for the brambles and saplings.
I got mine from
http://www.leroymerlin.fr they have a good selection and you can get different blades and cord, I have a cord bobbin and two blades one like a circular saw and one with just three blades. Go for the ones you have to strap onto to yourself as they are more powerful, I can get through almost anything with mine.
Look for a Débroussailleuse spend a bit more than you want and it will last for years, as you're not here all the time don't go cheap it won't last.
Oh and get yourself some good goggles.
Wot Fred sed.
Plus, if you plan to use it for more than 15 minutes at a time, I strongly recommend using some earplugs. Even cheap ones, when fitted correctly rather than just stuffed into the outer ear, provide valuable protection.
