Just picking your brains on here again. I am interested, for the future, in just how much it costs, roughly, per month for health cover over there in France. I am talking for a couple in their early 50's, relatively healthy. I do take daily medication for a slightly underactive thyroid though, but that's it at the moment.

Sorry I'm not much help a lot has changed since we came here we have Carte Vitale, but I'm not sure if you can get them as easy as it used to be. Hopefully someone will wake up and have something for you.
But if you do find out yourself pleas update as it will help others.

Hope that helps anyone else.
Thanks for that Jane.
That link you found has just explained why myself and Madame Admiral have been so unsuccessful in getting the Carte Vitale. And why I've had to put up with lengthy, baffling conversations with the likes of CPAM etc etc only to be told to go away.
Basically we don't meet any of the criteria because we obviously arrived in France just as the changes were being made.
Top find.
And you've only been here five minutes.
Must up my game.
