We are having ongoing, intermittent, problems with our internet (freebox.fr)
Connects via wifi and runs quite well sometimes, others either won't connect at all or shows as connected to router (wifi) but no internet connection
When it does connect sometimes runs very well (19mbs) other time really slow
We connect just wirelessly at the moment (iPhones/pads) until I can find my Ethernet adaptor for the MacBook (which of course I can't find, and can't seem to buy locally)
Would anybody out there, who's French language and patience, is up to dealing with the ISP help desk, like a job for a day or half day (whatever it takes) trying to help me sort this out. (I'll pay well to get this sorted, I can usually sort of thing in English, however my French is just not up to having the arguments, that no doubt will be a part of the "assistance" one is usually offered by ISP help desks, when they try to fob you off when they don't know how to fix the problem!
PM me if you think you might be up for the challenge!
Sorry my French is not up to arguments on the phone, in person yes but not on the phone. Hence I stuck with Orange they have an English speaking line, makes arguing easier. Big Grin

Rosie I cant vouch for her myself but I have heard there is a lady in the Estate agents on the square that helps out the Brits with French problems, don't know the name of it but it's on the corner with a blue shop front I think.

Maybe be worth a try, but like I say I've not used her so couldn't comment.

Good Luck.
Thanks again Fred!

You're welcome keep us updated as could help others.
Hi Rosie.

Pretty sure Fred is talking about Hero (yes, that's her real name) at Maisons Rurale estate agents in the main square in Montmorillon.

Very helpful - but she will charge.

Failing that you could go round the corner into the strangely named Grand Rue to find Spot Multimedia.

Situated opposite the sadly closed fishmongers the place looks as though it isn't actually a business and talk to the guy who runs it. He specialises in all things computer but I bet he knows an awful lot about the Interweb and things therein. He does speak English. You just have to push him by showing a lack of understanding in French.

Bonne chance. wave

PS: 19mbs is really slow.................just thought I'd say.
