It's that time of year again when the producers markets are upon us.

Montmorillon is on July 31 in the Place du Terrier with kick off at 1800.

Lathus is the following day August 1 behind the church. Again kick off is 1800.

These things can be a rather nice way of passing a couple of hours in the company of our French chums. Much eating, drinking and general convives.

Of course there is the obligatoire hideous accordion music to help you on your way as you look over the goodies on display. It goes without saying that you will end up going home with a very expensive lump of cheese that seemed a good idea at the time.Whistle
Thanks Admiral, I've often seen these but even after ten years have never actually been to one. Blush

I keep forgetting they are on, or if I'm honest cant always be bothered to go out in the evening after a few glasses at home. Doh

Fred must try harder Rolleyes
Sorry for my ignorance but what happens at a marche des producteurs?

Nothing wrong at all with "ignorance" - it's better to ask rather than pretend you know what is going on etc.

After all, it is what this forum is for so thanks for asking.wave

At the risk of being accused of being bone-idle, have a look at my post from last year.....right near the bottom of these What's On listings.

Just think producers markets in the UK and then add a sprinkling of French class, lovely food and a sense of what a jolly evening out should be and voila! Thumb

Quite understand the reluctance to venture forth having taken an early apero or eight. It happens to myself and Madame Admiral at times. Oh all right, quite a lot.

Give one of these producers markets a try, see what you make of it and tell me it was absolutely wonderful/the most boring experience of your years in France etc...

See you at the bar....Thumb
